Colour Crushing: Citrus

Citrus Burst

Wearing- Top and Skirt Kookai, Necklace: Lovisa, Heels Peep Toe Shoes, Clutch: vintage

Taking advantage of the last few morsels of sun that we have left, I jumped at putting together my favourite citrus shaded items. Just because the colder months are around the corner doesn't mean you have to automatically revert to darker tones. Whether its a pair of citrus fresh earrings, popping ankle boots or even just a juicy coating of nail polish; incorporating lemon and orange tones into my outfit always puts a smile on my face :)

galaxy glimmer

Wearing- Dress: Kookai, Belt: a boutique in Madrid can't recall the name , Flats: Topshop, Ring: Dorothy Perkins

Maxi dresses, the best thing to throw on when you have absolutely no time to scour through your wardrobe and even better when you feel like being comfortable and fuss free! I added a little belt to avoid looking like a flat ironing board and decided to amp up the comfort factor even further by wearing flats.

Kookai has as an array of gorgeous acid bright, galactic printed dresses at the moment. Pair your galactic bright's with neautral accessories, a mono toned cropped blazer, a killer clutch and you're off to the moon!

Don't forget to subscribe and like my FB page. I'll be uploading a 'Behind the scenes' video very soon.. so excited! :)

Ostrich gazing

Wearing- Ostrich vest & Palazzo Pants: Kookai, Wedges: Aldo

The Palazzo, the most flattering pair of pants you will ever wear! Every female should own a pair not only are they versatile, adds miles of length to your legs but they are so comfortable. With my wedges these babies still reach the floor- its all about the illusion. To balance out the wide leg I added this amazing Ostrich feather vest. So soft, fluffy and an unforgettable statement piece...

Von Follies by Dita Von Teese

images sourced

Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese launched her "Von Follies" lingerie line exclusive to Target. Von Follies I believe is French for 'Go Crazy'. And the pint sized beauty sure did by gracing our shores in a world first by appearing on the catwalk to showcase her favourite designs at the L'oreal Melboune Fashion Festival.

Known for her 1950's style the modern day pin up girl wore a custom piece amongst the 25 sexy models of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities. Dita's overt sexuality and personal style was clear in the collection with a strong nod to her love of all things vintage. Sexy black lace dominated but there were feminine whispers of ivory, baby blue and pink.

Accessorised with gorgeous veils, hats, lace eye masks, gloves and capelets - more than half coming from Von Teese's own vintage wardrobe! Overall Von Follies combined sexy femininity, sophistication and sensuality with high waisted briefs, garters and Von Teese's personal favourite the 'over-wire' bra aka the upside down bra which creates the classic rounded silhouette from the 50's. No 50's look is complete without rolled barrel buns, flirty cat eyes and a matte red lip. Models purred and teased the crowd to the beat of Von Teese's favourite big band tracks and original music from her burlesque shows.

"From age 16 I worked in a lingerie store, and I had a very strong interest in the history of underpinnings and how styles changed from decade to decade. Even at age sixteen, I wanted to be a lingerie expert, so I did everything I could to learn about it! I started collecting vintage lingerie at a young age, and my love for it is what lead me to imitate pinup art of the 1940s, and that is what sparked my career as it is now. Even back then, I equated beautiful lingerie with femininity and everyday luxury rather than seduction. Of course, the art of seducing with lingerie is a wonderful thing, and I am quite aware of the effect it has....but first and foremost, a woman should seduce herself by choosing lingerie that is both beautiful and functional that she can wear in her everyday life, and so bringing these things together, along with affordability, is what I aimed to achieve with my lingerie collection."
The collection is available online at the Target website

Alex Perry RTW SS 2012/13

Alex Perry's showed his latest collection at the weekend's L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and it was nothing short of spectacular.

A bevy of cat eyed models breezed down the runway in ravishing reds, creams, blacks and a tiny introduction to lime green. Gowns were billowing, dramatic and ultra glam, plus we were treated to shorter hemline this time around.

A stunning assortment of lace embellishments, sheer over-lays, sparkling crystals and a strong mixture of  textured floral designs wound their way across delicate sweet heart necklines and bodices.

I had to include the models getting their weave on backstage for the girls out there (including me) who huff in envy looking at sleek, shiny and gorgeous manes these models always seem to have on the runway.. well here you go we all need a little help and to uniform every model,  pin straight wefts were glued in to finish off their overall polished look.

Looking at Alex Perry designs really does feel like a day dream into a world of true beauty and bliss. Escapism at its best...
