seasonal spring

Wearing- Shirt: Love Milly, Skirt: Mister Zimi, Necklace: Collette by Collette Dinnigan for Lovisa, Rings: Diva, Boots: Rubi Shoes
Shot By: Josh Groom

I have been loving any kind of button up blouse or shirt a lot lately; tied up, tucked in, half way out, buttoned to the top, bat wing, laced up, peter pan collars love it all! So this number was no exception, my lovely little sister brought me back this flamingoesque – shirt from her first Euro trip. It’s extra special touch was the slight ruching on the shoulders which gives off such a nice silhouette.

Paired with this gorgeous leather skirt from Mister Zimi and ankle booties, I have my winning combo that can be interchanged with pretty much anything in my wardrobe. You may or may not know already but I am a huge fan of staples that are versatile and can be worn at any time of the year. So pieces like this could transition very easily between Spring and Winter.. add in a tight there, a blazer here, change up a heel there and your done!

I have some fun Springy(?) looks coming up that I can’t  wait to post! Hmm Spring mental list for myself: regular diy pedis, healthy doses of vitamin D, drink more water and learn how to change up my hair for blog shoots!

coral cliff

Wearing- Dress: Kookai, Necklace & Bracelets: Lovisa

Wind in the hair wind in the hairrrr!!! Nothing quite like it!

When your (my) legs are a little shy to take centre stage as they may well still be Winter mode, the beginning of Spring is the best time of year to wear maxi lengths. I wanted the dress and accessories to speak for themselves so my clean Spring canvas with this hard core gold collar (that I'm kinda obsessed with) just goes POP.

I'm thinking I'll be brave enough to wear my first above the knee length for the season in my next post!

Give-Away time!

Gemme Sorbet is just past its 6 month Birthday, so I thought to celebrate I will host my FIRST give away! I've teamed up with High Street UK brand Warehouse who have launched their Australian online store featuring their gorgeous new collection! Expect some classic, cool, fun and feminine pieces ladies!

This sequined, magenta/ hot pink number is from their 'Special Occasion' collection but I decided to dress it down for a day look. Keeping in theme with Spring/ Summer I went a bit crazy with the accessories with accenting neon and fluro colours and chucked on a blue denim jacket - which is always the easiest piece to style with when I'm not feeling super girly. But of course I've ended up a walking contradiction once again by finishing the look off with hot pink and baby blue Malibu Barbie-esque wedges!

I will be giving this dress away (brand new) to ONE lucky reader! See how you can enter below, I've made it very easy to enter.

Wearing- Dress: Warehouse, Denim Jacket: Vintage,  Bracelets & Cuff: Lovisa, Bag  & Wedges (available end of August): Novo

Fashion Palette SS12

'Arthur Galan' always synonymous for his precision tailoring and superior fabrics for men and women, his collection was a stand out on the day. Sexy, bold and strong I loved the use of fur and varying textures of leather, wool, feathers, velvet AND silk.

'Jayson Brunsdon' in true classic form his collection has once again brought worldly class, femininity, simplicity all complete with demure necklines, delicate buttons, belts and finishes.

HAD to give this dress its moment!

'Sistar Shoes' bling, spikes, rhinestones, pearls, gems, glitter, sparkle! Whoever said less is more was a fool! These show stopping heels were killer!

'My Wild Love' tribal Indian, Bohemium-esque inspired. Models were adorned in indian face paint, feathers and 70's hippy hair. My Wild Love heavily featured a beautiful combination of suede, sheer layers, fringing and crochet overlays.

'Anaessia' dreamy dramatics. I loved the delicate fabrics, billowing silhouettes and intricate, super sweet detail in the lace, embroidery and applique flowers. Fit for any Prima Ballerina!

'Isle Couture' boasted bright gradient shades of canary yellow, magenta and turquoise. With a universal appeal Isle Couture brought a vibrant energy of colour, sensuality and fluidity to the show. I loved the minute details like the exposed shoulders, collar bones and waist lines whilst still remaining modest giving the collection a harder edge alongside the overall delicate and feminine feel.

'Lily Hart' bold, playful and adventurous Lily Hart's prints and use of contrasting colours was just divine. True statement wardrobe staples, pieces from this collection will remain stand out pieces to treasure for years to come. I love the fluro accents it brought so much fun and quirkiness to the looks! I basically want every one of these outfits.

..and lil ol' me :)

Alex Perry RTW SS 2012/13

Alex Perry's showed his latest collection at the weekend's L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and it was nothing short of spectacular.

A bevy of cat eyed models breezed down the runway in ravishing reds, creams, blacks and a tiny introduction to lime green. Gowns were billowing, dramatic and ultra glam, plus we were treated to shorter hemline this time around.

A stunning assortment of lace embellishments, sheer over-lays, sparkling crystals and a strong mixture of  textured floral designs wound their way across delicate sweet heart necklines and bodices.

I had to include the models getting their weave on backstage for the girls out there (including me) who huff in envy looking at sleek, shiny and gorgeous manes these models always seem to have on the runway.. well here you go we all need a little help and to uniform every model,  pin straight wefts were glued in to finish off their overall polished look.

Looking at Alex Perry designs really does feel like a day dream into a world of true beauty and bliss. Escapism at its best...

Paris Fashion Week has wrapped so I have some gorgeous trending piccies for you all!

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac went 60's mod with dramatic eyeliner and bottom lashes with sleek beehives.

Chanel models breezed down the runway with 'wet look' hair and adorned in a gorgeous assortment of pearls and trinkets.

Jill Sander short tucked under bobs were prevalent along with a matte canvas face and super pale lips.

Alexis Mabille long, free flowing, hippy-esque locks decorated with loose petals and daisies with natural barely there makeup.

Issey Miyake bright gradient rainbow shades were painted onto models coned buns. Models were bare-faced, with pink stained lips- love!

Moschino Navy smokey eyes and nude lips always a killer combo. Thick 'Heidi' plait headbands are still going strong!

Louis Vuitton dishevelledvoluminous buns worn with thin diamante headband accents. Perfect hair do for those in between washes days! Fluttering lashes and defined liner and nude lip combo.

*sigh
